About
The castle served as royal residence and seat of parliament, and the Constitution of 3 May 1791 was adopted here. Blown up by German troops in 1944, it was rebuilt with funds raised by Poles at home and abroad, and its apartments now display paintings, furniture and views of the city by Bernardo Bellotto.
Best time to go: Visit mid-morning and look out for the two Rembrandt paintings in the Lanckoroński collection.
