About
The Duomo was consecrated in the twelfth century on the site of earlier churches and later given a Gothic interior. Its porch is guarded by carved griffins, while the nave is lined with frescoed chapels. Titian's Assumption of the Virgin hangs in the first chapel, and the complex includes an early baptistery and the ancient church of Sant'Elena.
Best time to go: Visit in the afternoon and look for Titian's Assumption in the first chapel on the left.
