About
This is one of the oldest secular buildings in Scandinavia, begun in the twelfth century as the residence of the archbishops. After the Reformation it passed to the Danish-Norwegian crown and served as a military headquarters. Today its museum displays original sculptures from the cathedral and archaeological finds, and the regalia of the Norwegian crown are kept in the west wing.
Best time to go: Combine it with the cathedral, as the palace sits right beside it and the crown regalia are on view here.
