About
Ghiyath al-Din Tughluq built this mausoleum between 1320 and 1324, while governor of Dipalpur, probably intending it for himself before he became Sultan of Delhi. Muhammad bin Tughluq later gave it to the saint's descendants, and Rukn-e-Alam's remains were moved here in 1330. It predates the Tughluq monuments of Delhi, and more than 100,000 pilgrims come for the annual urs.
