About
Nawab Ali Mohammad Khan Khakwani, governor of Multan, built this mosque in 1753 in the heart of Chowk Bazaar. Under Sikh rule the governor held court at its entrance, and the British returned it to the Muslim community in the nineteenth century. A small three-bay prayer hall faces a much larger gatehouse across a courtyard, both with cusped arches, floral designs and sparing touches of blue glazed tilework.
Best time to go: Combine it with a wander through the surrounding Chowk Bazaar, and visit outside prayer times.
