About
Known locally as Khooni Burj, the bastion stands on the old city wall between Pak Gate and Delhi Gate. It is one of the few remnants of the fortifications destroyed by the British in 1849. Tradition holds that Alexander the Great was wounded near this spot during his invasion of the Indus Valley. Two British emissaries were buried here after their killing in 1848, and it saw fierce fighting in the siege that followed.
Best time to go: See it on a walk along the line of the old city walls, starting from Delhi Gate or Pak Gate.
