About
Begun in 1754 and completed by John Wood the Younger, the Circus is divided into three curved terraces around great plane trees. Its facades stack the three classical orders one above another, and the frieze is decorated with hundreds of carved symbols of the arts, sciences and trades.
Best time to go: Pass through on the way from the Assembly Rooms to the Royal Crescent.
