About
Designed by John Wood the Younger and opened in 1771, the rooms were the centre of social life in Georgian Bath and appear in the novels of Jane Austen. The ballroom, tea room and octagon card room were restored after bomb damage in the Second World War.
Best time to go: Look into the ballroom to see its crystal chandeliers, then continue to the Circus nearby.
