About
The Romans built a temple and baths here around the sacred spring of Sulis Minerva, and the steaming Great Bath still sits on its original stone floor. The museum around it displays the gilded head of the goddess, curse tablets thrown into the spring and the remains of the temple courtyard.
Best time to go: Book a timed slot for early morning or visit on a summer evening by torchlight.
