About
Jane Austen lived in Bath in the early nineteenth century and set parts of Northanger Abbey and Persuasion here. The centre, in a Georgian townhouse on Gay Street, uses costumed guides, period rooms and displays to explore her life and the fashionable society she observed.
Best time to go: Pair it with a walk to the Royal Crescent and Assembly Rooms, both in her novels.
