About
Once the Sydney Hotel, the building now houses the collection of Sir William Holburne alongside later acquisitions. Paintings by Gainsborough and Stubbs hang with silver, porcelain and miniatures, and the modern glass extension looks out over Sydney Gardens, once a Georgian pleasure garden.
Best time to go: Walk the length of Great Pulteney Street to reach it, then explore Sydney Gardens behind.
