About
The great bronze Buddha, cast in the Ayutthaya period, was badly damaged when the city fell in 1767 and later restored. The hall around it was rebuilt in the twentieth century in traditional style, and it remains an active place of worship amid the ruins.
Best time to go: Stop in next to Wat Phra Si Sanphet and browse the food and souvenir stalls outside.
