About
King Borommarachathirat II founded the temple in the fifteenth century where his two elder brothers were cremated after they died fighting each other for the throne. In the 1950s a hoard of gold regalia and jewellery was discovered in its crypt, and much of it is now displayed in the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum.
Best time to go: Climb the central prang to see the faded murals in the crypt, then visit the museum that holds its treasures.
