About
French missionaries were granted land here in the seventeenth century, and the first church on the site was founded in 1666, when Ayutthaya was trading with Europe. The present church, a pale neo-Romanesque building designed by Joachim Grassi, was completed in 1891 and recalls the city's cosmopolitan past.
Best time to go: Combine it with a boat trip around the island, as it stands on the riverbank south of the old city.
