About
King Prasat Thong built the temple in 1630 on the west bank of the Chao Phraya, possibly to honour his mother. Its tall central prang, surrounded by smaller towers and a gallery of seated Buddhas, was designed to echo the Buddhist cosmos and recalls the temples of Angkor.
Best time to go: Come for sunset, when the prangs are silhouetted against the sky across the river.
