About
The Romans built a customs post and later a fort on this moraine hill, and a Carolingian palace followed. Today the Lindenhof is a quiet square of lime trees where locals play chess, with a fountain and one of the loveliest views over the rooftops of the Niederdorf across the river.
Best time to go: Come in the early evening for a peaceful view across the Limmat to the old town and university.
