About
Xi'an's Hui Muslim community has lived around the Great Mosque for centuries, since the city was the eastern end of the Silk Road. The lanes are packed with stalls grilling lamb skewers, steaming dumplings and pulling noodles, and the district is at its most atmospheric after dark.
Best time to go: Come hungry in the evening, and try roujiamo, lamb paomo and biangbiang noodles.
