About
Built in 1380, the Drum Tower is one of the largest of its kind in China, and its drums were beaten at nightfall as a counterpart to the morning bell. Inside, a collection of drums and short performances recall its role, and the tower marks the entrance to the lanes of the Muslim Quarter.
Best time to go: Visit in the evening, then walk straight on into the Muslim Quarter for dinner.
