About
Tradition dates the mosque to the Tang dynasty, though its present buildings are mostly from the Ming period. Instead of domes and minarets it has gateways, stone arches, a pagoda-like minaret and a prayer hall with upturned eaves, set among quiet gardens in the heart of the Muslim Quarter.
Best time to go: Dress modestly, avoid prayer times and find it by following the lanes behind the Drum Tower.
