About
Opened in 1891 on the Ringstrasse, the museum is as grand as the collection it houses. Its picture gallery holds the world's largest group of paintings by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, along with works by Titian, Rubens, Vermeer and Velázquez, and the Kunstkammer displays the curiosities gathered by Habsburg rulers.
Best time to go: Head first to the Bruegel room, then pause for coffee under the great dome.
