About

Built for Prince Eugene of Savoy in the early eighteenth century, the Upper and Lower Belvedere are masterpieces of Baroque architecture by Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt. The Upper Belvedere now holds the world's largest collection of Gustav Klimt's paintings, including The Kiss, alongside works by Schiele and Kokoschka.

Best time to go: See Klimt's The Kiss in the Upper Belvedere early, then walk down through the gardens.
