About
Built as part of Diocletian's palace, the temple was later converted into a baptistery dedicated to Saint John. It has a fine carved coffered vault and a bronze statue of the saint by Ivan Meštrović. Its doorway is richly carved, and the narrow lane leading to it is one of the most atmospheric corners of the palace.
Best time to go: Look up at the carved coffered ceiling inside the small temple.
