About
Jogyesa is the headquarters of the Jogye Order, the largest Buddhist order in Korea, and its main hall dates from the 1930s. Painted in rich colours and shaded by ancient trees, the temple is busy with worshippers throughout the day and offers temple stay programmes for visitors.
Best time to go: Visit during the lantern season before Buddha's Birthday, when the courtyard is ablaze with colour.
