About
Opened in the early twentieth century, the market is known for silks and textiles upstairs and for the food stalls that fill its central halls. Vendors fry crisp mung bean pancakes, roll small gimbap and serve noodles and dumplings to diners seated on benches around them.
Best time to go: Come hungry at lunchtime or in the evening, and try bindaetteok, mayak gimbap and yukhoe.
