About

For over four centuries the Residenz was the seat of Bavaria's dukes, electors and kings, and it grew into a complex of courtyards in Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and neoclassical styles. Highlights include the Antiquarium, a long vaulted Renaissance hall, the Treasury's crowns and jewels and the exquisite Rococo Cuvilliés Theatre.

Best time to go: Buy the combined ticket and see the Treasury first, then wander the state rooms at your own pace.
