About
Built in only about twenty years in the late fifteenth century, the Frauenkirche is a vast hall church of red brick. Its two towers, topped with distinctive green domes, remain the city's emblem, and local rules have long limited the height of buildings in the centre. Inside lie members of the Wittelsbach family, including Emperor Louis IV.
Best time to go: Look for the legendary Devil's Footprint in the entrance hall before walking into the nave.
