About
St Paul's Church crowns St Paul's Hill and was first built between 1566 and 1590. It is the oldest European building east of India and the oldest surviving church building in Southeast Asia. The walls now stand open to the sky above the old town. Each year a Mass for the feast of St Francis Xavier is held here on the first Saturday of December, a tradition dating from 1922.
Best time to go: Climb the hill late in the afternoon for the view over the town and the strait.
