About
Rebuilt in the early eighteenth century by the Asam brothers, the cathedral is one of the finest Baroque interiors in Tyrol. The painted ceiling seems to open onto heaven, and above the high altar hangs Lucas Cranach the Elder's Mariahilf, one of the most revered images of the Virgin in the Alps.
Best time to go: Step in during a quiet morning to admire the ceiling frescoes in peace.
