About
The Hofkirche was built in the 1550s to house the cenotaph of Maximilian I. The empty tomb is surrounded by twenty-eight larger-than-life bronze statues of ancestors and heroes, among them King Arthur, cast partly to designs by Albrecht Dürer, and the Tyrolean hero Andreas Hofer is buried here too.
Best time to go: Combine it with the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum, which shares the same entrance.
