About
Set on a steep slope above the city, the zoo keeps only Alpine species, from ibex, chamois and brown bears to lynx, wolves and bearded vultures. It plays a part in conservation breeding, and the terraces give fine views over Innsbruck.
Best time to go: Stop at the Alpenzoo station of the Hungerburg funicular on your way up or down the Nordkette.
