About
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is the resting place of the revolutionary leader and president Ho Chi Minh. It stands in the centre of Ba Đình Square, where he read the Declaration of Independence on 2 September 1945, founding the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The large building is a place of national pilgrimage, and visitors are expected to behave respectfully inside. It is open to the public in the mornings, except on Mondays and Fridays.
Best time to go: Go early in the morning, dress respectfully and expect a queue; the mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays.
