About
Trấn Quốc Pagoda is the oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi. It stands on a small island near the south-eastern shore of West Lake, the largest lake in the city. Its setting on the water makes it one of the most photographed temples in Hanoi. The temple is still in use, so dress modestly and move quietly around the shrines. It is an easy stop on a walk or cycle along the lake shore.
Best time to go: Come in the late afternoon for the light over West Lake; dress modestly.
