About
The Graslei was the heart of Ghent's medieval port on the river Leie. Its row of guild and storehouses spans styles from Romanesque to Baroque, including the stone Staple House for grain and the Guildhall of the Free Boatmen. Across the water, the Korenlei mirrors it, and together they form the city's favourite meeting place.
Best time to go: Sit by the water across on the Korenlei in the evening, when the guildhalls are lit.
