About

The convent was rebuilt with Medici money in the fifteenth century, and the painter-friar Fra Angelico decorated it for his brothers. His Annunciation greets you at the top of the stairs, and each small cell has its own fresco for meditation. The preacher Savonarola was prior here, and his cell is preserved.

Best time to go: Morning; it is rarely crowded and deeply peaceful.
