About
A Norse king of Dublin founded a church here around 1030, and the Normans rebuilt it in stone from the late twelfth century. The vast crypt holds historic treasures and the curious mummified cat and rat, and a covered bridge links the cathedral to Dublinia, a museum of Viking and medieval Dublin.
Best time to go: Leave time for the crypt, one of the largest medieval crypts in Britain and Ireland.
