About

Founded as Queen's College Cork in 1845, the university stands on a rise above the River Lee. Its limestone quadrangle is one of the city's most graceful spaces, and the Stone Corridor displays early medieval stones inscribed in Ogham, the oldest form of writing in Ireland.

Best time to go: Walk the quadrangle and visit the Stone Corridor with its Ogham stones.
