About
The museum grew from the collection that Ferdinand Franz Wallraf left to the city in 1824. Its galleries hold one of the best groups of medieval Cologne painting anywhere, including works by Stefan Lochner, together with Rubens, Rembrandt and a strong collection of Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, much of it from the Fondation Corboud.
Best time to go: Begin with the medieval Cologne painters on the first floor, then work your way up through time.
