About
In the early twentieth century this open ground outside the medina walls became the hinge between old and new Casablanca, with boulevards radiating from it. The clock tower on the walls is a reconstruction of one raised in the first years of the protectorate. Around the square stand hotels and apartment blocks from the city's Art Deco heyday.
Best time to go: Use it as the starting point for a walk into the old medina through the gate beside the clock tower.
