About
Laid out during the protectorate in the early twentieth century by the architect Albert Laprade, the park was designed as a green lung for the rapidly growing city. Its broad palm-lined walks, lawns and fountains run towards the Sacré-Cœur Cathedral, and a recent restoration has brought back much of its original character.
Best time to go: Stroll through on a late afternoon, when locals come out to walk under the palms.
