About

Built in the thirteenth century to protect the southern gate of the Upper Town, the tower once held a bell that rang before the gates closed each night. Since the nineteenth century a cannon has been fired every day at noon, and the viewing platform looks out over the Lower Town.

Best time to go: Be there at noon, when the Grič cannon is fired from the tower.
