About
A market has operated on this site since the early nineteenth century, and the South Market building incorporates part of Toronto's former city hall. Inside, dozens of vendors sell fresh produce, fish, cheese and baked goods. On Saturdays the farmers' market adds regional growers, and on Sundays an antiques market takes over.
Best time to go: Come hungry on a Saturday morning and try the peameal bacon sandwich, a Toronto classic.
