About

Completed in 1976, the tower was the tallest free-standing structure in the world for more than three decades. Glass-fronted lifts rise to observation levels with a glass floor and views across the city and the lake, and on clear days as far as the spray of Niagara. A revolving restaurant turns slowly near the top.

Best time to go: Go up about an hour before sunset to see the lake by day and the city lights after dark.
