About
The Sharjah Heritage Museum reopened in 2012 in the restored home of Saeed Al Taweel Al Shamsi, a pearl merchant. It lies in the old town, which is being renovated under the Heart of Sharjah project. Six galleries cover landscape, daily life, celebrations, livelihoods, traditional knowledge and oral traditions, giving a rounded picture of life in the emirate before oil.
Best time to go: Combine it with the Calligraphy Museum and Bait Al Naboodah, all a short walk apart in the old town.
