About
The Sharjah Calligraphy Museum opened in 2002 in the Sharjah Heritage Area. It traces how Arabic calligraphy has evolved and shows works by local and international artists on canvas, wood, paper and ceramics. Alongside its permanent displays it holds changing exhibitions and workshops, and it is a calm place to learn how the script has become an art form in its own right.
Best time to go: Pause here during a morning walk around the heritage area; the galleries are compact.
