About
The Almohads fortified this headland in the twelfth century, and its monumental Bab Oudaya gate is one of the finest of the period. Later the kasbah housed the Udaya tribe, whose warriors served the sultans. Today its quiet whitewashed lanes, Andalusian garden and seaward battery make it the most atmospheric corner of the city.
Best time to go: Enter by the great gate in the morning, then finish at the terrace café above the river mouth.
