About
Built by the British in the early nineteenth century on the city's highest point, the citadel was designed to defend against an American attack that never came. It is home to the Royal 22e Régiment, whose museum is inside, and also contains a residence of the Governor General. Guided tours explain its layout and history.
Best time to go: Time your visit for the changing of the guard in summer, performed by the Royal 22nd Regiment.
