About
The garden was founded by the botanist Luca Ghini in the mid-sixteenth century to teach medicine through the study of plants, and it moved to its present site a few decades later. Its old beds, greenhouses and trees belong to the University of Pisa. The building with a facade of shells and stones marks the historic entrance.
Best time to go: Visit on a spring morning, a short walk from the Piazza dei Miracoli, for a quiet green break.
