About
Built in the late sixteenth or early seventeenth century and named after the official who commissioned it, the mosque has kept its dome and slender minaret intact. Still used for Muslim prayer, it also contains a small exhibition of Ottoman-era objects that recall the town's century and a half under Turkish rule.
Best time to go: Visit alongside the necropolis and the cathedral, a short walk to the west of the centre.
