About
The cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul stands on foundations reaching back to the Roman town of Sopianae, and its medieval Romanesque basilica grew with Gothic chapels over the centuries. Its present appearance, with four matching towers, largely dates from a late nineteenth-century rebuilding, and its interior is richly painted.
Best time to go: Visit in the morning, see the crypt and walk round the bishop's quarter beside it.
