About
Pasha Qasim built the mosque in the 1540s after the Ottoman conquest, reusing stones from a medieval church. It was converted back into a church in 1702 and its minaret later demolished, yet the green dome, prayer niche and Quranic verses make it one of the largest Ottoman buildings surviving in Hungary.
Best time to go: Look up at the Ottoman dome, mihrab and Arabic inscriptions, then linger on the square outside.
